The President’s Defense Team Speaks For The First Time

The President’s defense team started today dismantling the House Manager’s efforts to unseat the President. Their presentation, marked with thoroughness, confrontation to lies presented and presentation of “the rest of the story.” Several hours of talking in a way that was easy to understand, and at one point, one of the attorneys described the lack of authorization of the Intelligence and Judiciary committees to issue subpoenas and conduct hearings. By their own rules and laws as described by the United States Supreme Court, the House of Representatives must have a majority vote by the “whole house” and pass a Resolution actually to conduct such an investigation and issue subpoenas. That never happened until after both committees had completed their so-called investigation and interviews. Whoops! It raises a question also: Is the impeachment defective on its face and illegal as an improper act by the House of Representatives? It looks like the Speaker of the House screwed up.
